More than half (53 percent) also agree their congregation sometimes seems to love America more than God. Now more than ever, opposition to the United States is framed as the opposite of patriotism when in fact, it's out of love for what this country can become that so many people criticize it.
But I would argue that the very fabric of the military is more patriotic in nature than nationalist. If successful, that account shows that we do have a moral duty to abide by the laws of our country, to act as citizens, and that this duty is one of fairness.
